Complete overview and introductionThe Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a university-level entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to its undergraduate programs, including BBA, B.Com (Hons.), B.Sc. (Economics), B.Sc. (Computer Science), and more. It is a computer-based test of 150 minutes with 150 multiple-choice questions, covering General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. A strong SET score opens doors to some of the most reputed undergraduate programs at Symbiosis institutes, including SIBM Pune, SICSR Pune, SCMS Pune, and others, providing exceptional career opportunities in business, management, and technology.
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply for this exam- • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 (HSC) or equivalent from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- • Those appearing for the Class 12 examination or awaiting results can appear for the exam. However, admission will be subject to the aggregate score achieved in the final exam.
- • For candidates in the SC / ST / PwD categories: the minimum requirement is relaxed to 45% aggregate marks in Class 12.
- • Candidates must also register for the Symbiosis admission process separately after qualifying SET.

What is the SET General exam pattern?
SET General is a 2.5-hour computer-based test with 150 multiple-choice questions covering General English (40 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (40 questions), General Awareness (40 questions), and Analytical & Logical Reasoning (30 questions). Each correct answer earns +1 mark, and there is no negative marking.
When is SET General 2026 expected to be conducted?
As per latest updates, SET General 2026 is scheduled for May 2026. The notification is expected to be released in January/February 2026. The exam is conducted in multiple shifts across various exam centres.
Do I need work experience to appear for SET?
No, work experience is not required. This is an undergraduate entrance exam for students who have completed or are appearing for their Class 12 (10+2) examination.
How many attempts are allowed for SET?
There is no limit on the number of attempts. Candidates can appear for SET as many times as they wish, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria. However, admission is based on the score of the current year's exam.
What is a good SET score for top Symbiosis institutes?
A score of 100+ out of 150 is considered competitive for top Symbiosis institutes like SIBM Pune, SICSR Pune, and SCMS Pune. A 95+ percentile is often the cutoff for the best institutes. However, the cutoff varies each year based on the difficulty level and the number of candidates. The final selection also includes a Personal Interaction (PI) round.
