BHU Law Entrance 2021 Exam Pattern

BHU LLB entrance exam is a famous university-based examination conducted by Banaras Hindu University.

  • Duration: Applicants will get 120 minutes (two hours) to solve the entire paper.
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions will be asked in the question paper.
  • Language: The question paper will be published in English or Hindi language.
  • Total marks: Applicants will have to appear on a question paper of a maximum of 450 marks.
  • Marking scheme: Each correct answer will get three marks.
  • Negative Scheme: 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer.

Syllabus

1.General Awareness and Current Affairs (50 Questions)

The section includes questions related to public knowledge and the latest international or national facts and figures.

2.Legal Aptitude and Mental Ability (50 Questions)

The section has questions related to knowledge of Law & also has mental ability questions, that is, puzzle-related questions like Logical Reasoning, basic mathematics, averages, probability, etc. to check the mental ability of the students.

3.English Comprehension (50 Questions)

This section also has 50 questions carrying 3 marks each which again makes it a total of 150 marks for the whole section. The section has questions related to the English subject. The questions will be based on grammatical and vocabulary knowledge.

BLAT Exam Pattern 2021

  • The Question will be Objective Multiple Choice Questions with Four Options.
  • There is a 1/3rd Negative Marking.
  • The time allotted is 2 hrs. i.e. One Hundred Twenty Minutes.
  • The Question will be in two languages English and Hindi.

BLAT Syllabus 2021

General knowledge and Current Affairs

General knowledge and Current Affairs include topics such as History (Ancient, Medieval, and Modern), Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, and Current Affairs of the past one year. The subject is to assess the knowledge of the recent happenings and awareness of the world.

Logical and Analytical Reasoning

Logical and Analytical Reasoning section of the BLAT Exam is to set the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include wide analogies, completing arguments, drawing well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, applying principles or rules. Further, the subject is to measure the ability to understand the structure, relationship and to draw logical conclusions about the structures. It includes reasoning deductively from the set of the statement and rules or principles that describe the relationship among persons, things, or events.

English

English section will consist of the question on the areas like vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, analogies etc.) Proficiency (Idioms and Phrases, one-word substitution, Sentence Improvement and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc.) English comprehension with a minimum of two passages followed by five to ten questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.

Basic Mathematics

This is to test the numerical ability of candidates. The Mathematics questions will be set from std 10th level of various topics including Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Venn Diagram.
